Training & Education
Through its Training Institute, DDRN offers many opportunities for professional, consumers, and family members to learn about the latest research and services available. Since its inception, DDRN has offered over 100 day-long workshops, as well as numerous state, regional and national conferences. Staff is available for formal and informal consultation throughout the United States, and training can be customized to meet an organization's needs.
We are licensed by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to provide continuing education units.
Training for Professionals
Foundations Integrated Provider (IPC) Institute offers programs taught by experts in the co-occurring field to help professionals develop effective, accurate, and up-to-the-minute skills and tools for their professions.
The IPC offers one week programs each quarter that are open to the public, for a fee. After completing an IPC training, participants will receive IPC Certification.
The newest training program is for learning Core Principles & Features of Integrated Treatment. Each person who completes the program will receive a certificate from the Integrated Provider Institute.
An example of the curricula schedule is:
Day 1/Module 1
Core Principles & Features of Integrated Treatment (Who, What and Why) To ground participants through an overview of the constructs of co- and multi-occurring conditions, their impact, and core elements of integration. Individual components will be discussed in greater detail in other modules.
Day 2/Module 2 (1 day)
Motivational Interviewing, Integration, and stages of change - (how Part I - Fundamentals) to develop core expectations for all interactions with clients related to engaging and maintaining therapeutic relationships.
Day 3/Module 3 (1 day)
Integrated Rehabilitation and Recovery Practice Guidelines (where, when)
Family Education and Roles in Treatment (how Part II - Techniques)
Days 4-5/Modules 4 & 5 (2 days)
Client Education and Essential Skill Building (how Part III Essential Skill Building)
