Informative and easy to navigate, the site offers news alerts, fact sheets for parents, legislative action, publications, research, and best of all, a regional organization and doctor directory.
American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry - An excellent resource for the elderly mentally ill, this site offers news, consumer information, a bookstore, advocacy programs, bulletin boards, a member meeting place, and education and research links.

Psychiatric Nurses Association - (APNA) is a professional organization which
represents the specialty practice of psychiatric-mental health nursing. It is
the largest national association of psychiatric nurses. The membership of APNA
consists of nurses at both the general and specialist levels of practice. APNA
is committed to facilitating and supporting opportunities for dynamic
interaction and participation among the membership. We provide forums for
collaborative relationships, partnerships, and networks with mental health
consumers and other healthcare professional groups.

Center For Mental Health Services - This site promotes education of mental illnesses in a big way. There is a list of statistics regarding mental illness, as well as news and a searchable database.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill - This site is one of the best resources for the mentally ill. Large and user-friendly, the site offers extensive information on patient rights, advocacy, consumer information, news, and a helpline section. There is also a bookstore complete with a reviews section, and a search engine for mental health advocacy topics.
National Empowerment Center, Inc. - The Mission of the National Empowerment Center is to carry a message of recovery, empowerment, hope and healing to people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.
National Depressive and Manic Depressive Association - This website is full of valuable information on two of the most common mood disorders in the family of mental illnesses. There are extensive resources for all age groups, including news, patient assistance, advocacy, publications, success stories, regional directory, and a comprehensive list of support groups nation wide.
National Mental Health Consumers' Self-Help Clearinghouse, a consumer-run national technical assistance center serving the mental health consumer movement. We help connect individuals to self-help and advocacy resources, and we offer expertise to self-help groups and other peer-run services for mental health consumers.
National Mental Health Organization - "Caring for your mental health" is this organization's logo, and they mean it! News, legislative alerts, free publications, extensive resources, links and more. Very easy to navigate.

It has one of the largest databases on the internet, along with publications, news, consumer info, a kids area, Spanish translation, information on funding your mental health care, and links to other services.
